I started volunteering again at my church in the last two weeks. I originally designed the website for my church many years ago but struggled to maintain it. Luckily enough another developer migrated my static design to a WordPress site, much easier to update. As I am still looking for work and skill-building, I decided there wouldn’t be any harm in starting back at my church. I love design, and my church gives me a chance to be completely creative without limits. No one there is a graphic design expert, so I rarely get anyone criticising my designs, nor do I have to work to complicated briefs or pull magic out of a hat. I am free to experiment and give it my creative best. Most of the time I am asked to just do something quick and simple, although you can’t tell me to spend a short time on a design, LOL! I like going all out and getting my creativity flowing. At the same time, there is no pressure to be perfect. I consider it a lot of fun and an excellent way to keep my skills sharp. The below images are some designs I have done for a slideshow on newlifeonline.org.au. You can click that link to see the slideshow in action.
